He began his public service in Fairview Utah in 2004 with a population of 1200 residents, as an elected member of the City Council. He went on to serve as Mayor, County Commissioner, State Representative, and Lt Governor. In this episode we discuss how we can disagree better in our city and what it means to lead. "Karianne graduated from Brigham Young University, where she met her husband of 30 years, Seth Lisonbee. They have six children and six grandchildren.
Effective Leadership
Karianne is the House Majority Whip. In the past she served as Majority Assistant Whip, Rules Vice Chair, and Judiciary Committee Chair. Karianne has served on Executive Offices and Criminal Justice Appropriations Committee, Education Appropriations Committee, Business and Labor Committee, Education Committee, Revenue and Taxation Committee, and Health and Human Services Committee.
Karianne is frequently asked to attend local and national think tank and policy meetings and present innovative conservative solutions. She has received many awards from these organizations.
Service
Karianne is currently serving a fourth term in the Utah House of Representatives. Prior to her legislative service, she served on the Syracuse City Council. She has served on several Non-profit Boards and is currently serving as a board member for Open Doors, UHEA, and Wasatch International Adoptions.
Karianne is a hard-working and knowledgeable legislator. She has developed positive and collaborative relationships with her colleagues in the House and Senate and has tackled tough issues from the beginning of her service. Her number one priority is to represent her district. Karianne has worked collaboratively with elected officials at the local, state, and national levels to support economic growth and job creation in Northern Davis County.

She appreciates this event and the solemn thoughts and feelings that come as those who have given their all are remembered and honored.

Karianne has been invited to speak at naturalization ceremonies, Veteran’s associations, and other gatherings, sharing American ideals and the principles of personal responsibility and freedom.
Karianne listens to the people she serves, and many of the bills she has proposed are in response to their concerns.
Conservative Values
Karianne serves on the Women in the Economy Commission where she advocates for conservative solutions to issues like childhood poverty.
Karianne recently ran legislation creating a process for Utah residents to protect their personal information from being shared without their consent. She also sponsored several bills protecting victims and increasing accountability and transparency in the criminal justice system.
Karianne worked with Utah agencies, family advocates, and stakeholders to pass groundbreaking legislation increasing parental rights and strengthening families.
Karianne supported increases in education funding and teacher salary increases while expanding school choice options and lowering taxes on families and individuals.
Leisure
In her leisure time, Karianne enjoys spending time with her family, reading, doing family history work, hiking, camping, traveling, and writing."

"Ricky has a passion for good government. Since his election as Weber Clerk/Auditor in 2010, his mission and purpose have been to operate the Clerk/Auditor’s Office with the highest degree of integrity and transparency. He often says, “My job is to protect your money and your vote.”
That statement proves true in both the fiscal improvements he has made, and the recognition he has earned in guiding national governmental accounting standards and election policy.
Ricky is a public servant in the truest sense of the word. He is always willing to hear and discuss the recommendations and concerns of Utah’s citizens. His expertise is evidenced by the many awards he and his team have earned, and the overwhelming outflow of support he has received across the state.
After graduating with honors from Brigham Young University with a master’s degree in accounting, he worked as an information systems auditor and consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles and Warsaw, Poland. He worked as a business analyst and project manager in Germany and Boston. In 2002, he established, ran, and taught at a private K-12 school in Ogden, Utah, later becoming CFO and COO of a chain of private schools throughout the western U.S.
He has been honored by his peers as Utah’s County Auditor of the Year in 2013 and 2017 County Clerk of the Year in 2015 and 2022. He served as President of the Utah Association of Counties, President of the Utah Clerk and Auditor Association, and has chaired the Utah Clerk’s Legislative Committee for the past eight years.
Ricky served as the chair of Leadership Northern Utah, the leadership development program for the Ogden Weber Chamber of Commerce. A devoted fan of the U.S. Constitution, he served ten years on the Constitution Day Committee of Utah. He’s also an Eagle Scout.
Ricky has five fantastic children and three cute-as-a-button grandchildren. He speaks French, albeit slowly and with a funny accent.

"The Hopebox Theatre is built on the power of the performing arts to help people heal. As a four time cancer survivor, our founder Jan Williams has known first hand the struggle and strain that cancer puts on an individual, their family, and their community. It was during her third battle with cancer during an especially difficult treatment that the vision of the Hopebox came to be. A group of her theater students had come to her doorstep one evening to sing some of her favorite broadway show tunes and provide love, support and the hope that Jan would have a better tomorrow. This event changed her life forever! It brought her hope... so much hope that suddenly she didn’t feel sick or even tired. In fact, that night she couldn’t sleep because she was so overwhelmed with the love and hope that she felt!
As a result, Jan was inspired to start the Hopebox Theatre. She wanted to be able to give back to those who were also struggling with cancer by paying it forward. Jan felt like that experience at her doorstep brought her new life, renewed joy and especially a bright hope for her future! So even though she didn’t know whether or not she was going to beat her cancer, she went out with her beautiful bald head and found an amazing partner Curtis Dalton, who also believed in her intended mission. “To Bring Hope to Families Battling Cancer through the Performing Arts!” Curtis' family had also felt the effects of cancer when his mother passed away from cancer when he was nine years old. This theatre has been a perfect way for him to honor and cherish his mother. So with a lot of faith, Jan’s experience with theatre and Curtis’ background in construction, these new partners purchased a vacant church building in Kaysville that Jan had been keeping her eye on. They knew the moment they walked into the space that this is where the Hopebox should be! A couple months later, as renovations were underway for the new theatre, another friend, Derek Raynor came aboard as the third partner in this new adventure. Derek brought unique expertise and experience in theatrical technical design and together they started a not-for-profit organization called "The Hopebox Theatre of the Performing Arts!" It was a dream come true for all of them!

”At times I’ve questioned why God has kept me alive. I’m so thankful to be able to see my vision realized by being able to soften the effects of cancer to an individual and their family! It is truly a dream come true! There is no place I’d rather be, than working at this theatre! We may be small, but our mission is great and we are making a positive impact... one life at a time! I feel so blessed to be helping families in our community find hope during one of the hardest times in their life!”

Rachel Terry is a lawyer more at home in the courtroom than in the dog-eat-dog world of politics. As a wife, mother of 13-year-old twins and practicing attorney of 20 years, her life took an unexpected turn when she decided to continue her decade-long work for the state of Utah by running to serve as its next Attorney General. She’s juggling it all right now: working full-time as the Director of the State Division of Risk Management, meeting family obligations and running a statewide campaign (which is more than a full-time occupation by itself!). Through it all, she remains committed to what she sees at Utah’s priorities: immigration, federal overreach and protecting children from criminals and big tech. Rachel knows that big corporations and bureaucracies only understand one language — and it happens to be a language she’s fluent in: litigation. Rachel will continue her successful litigation record for years to come as Utah’s next Attorney General.
