In 2019, Rachel was one of my first podcast guests. She bravely shared a glimpse into daily life with her son, Carson who has a rare disease called "Congenital Muscular Dsytrophy also known as "Muscle - Eye - Brain Disease." Muscle - Eye -Brain disease impairs the frontal lobe, which for Carson means he's visually impaired, unable to speak, walk or control body movements. For Rachel, her family and for Carson's dad it means they live with an real-life-angel who brings joy, light, laughter and purpose to their lives.
Carson is as special as he is rare. His gifts include humor, wit, mischievousness and most importantly JOY!
Several years ago, I was in a slump, after talking to Rachel I was reminded that life is truly what we decide to focus on. She inspired me to 'get off the couch' and take some risks and embrace life.
She does the same thing for her children.
Rachel's confidence and personality fill the room with humor and grace. She's a realist. Down to earth and honest, genuine and raw she continues to inspire and uplift others as she shares life with Carson.
Carson is delighted by movement, animals, his family and loves to share his sense of humor and quest for adventure. He loves riding on swings, roller coasters, car rides with the windows down. He likes to tease his family and friends and faces his challenges with courage.
